Mir ist ein feins brauns megdlein gefallen in meinen sinn, ach Gott solt ich jhr diener sein, mein trawren wer dahin. Weder tag noch nacht hab ich kein ruh, das schafft jhr schön Gestalt, ich weis nit wie ich im tu, mein feins lieb macht mich alt. Dem megdlein ich gerne dienen wolt, wenn ich mit fugen kündt, darumb hab ich der neider viel, das mirs nicht werd vergünt. Ich hoff sie sols erfahren bald, wie ichs so trewlich mein, auff erden ich mir nichts wüntschen wolt, denn sein bei jr allein. Dem megdlein ich mein trew versprich, in ehren und anders nit, als was doch fromb und ehrlich ist, darnach ich mich stets richt, solt denn mein trew verloren sein, krenckt mir mein sinn unnd gemüth, ich hoff sie sols erfahren schier, mein sach sol werden gut. Denn was die falschen zungen thun, ist jetzund an dem tag, ach du mein feins brauns megdlein, hör zu was ich dir sag, halt dich nur stets in ehren allein, wie ich dich, hertzlieb mein, so heltest du gunst, mit deiner kunst, das glaub du mir megdlein fein. Damit wil ich dem megdlein gesungen haben frey zu guter nacht ein liedelein, als gut wünsch ich jr darbey, damit das sie gedenck an mich, wenn ich nit bei jr bin, so behüt dich Gott mein feines lieb, alde ich fahr dahin.

Sie war ganz erschrocken, aus dem Bette sprang sie 'raus, Thät das Hemdchen überwerfen, zum Fenster schaut sie 'naus: Geh weg von meinem Fenster, geh weg von meinem Thür'! Sonst greif' ich meine Waffen und schlage nach dir. Du hast mir versprochen die Treue so fest, Du hast sie gebrochen, geh hin wo du gewest. Da diese zwei Verliebte aus einander gegang'n, Sind die Thränen von den Augen herunter gerannt, Die Thränen von den Augen, die Tröpflein von den Wang'n -- Aber diese zwei Verliebte kommen nicht mehr zusamm'n.
