Land, auf halbem Weg verblieben
zwischen Erd’ und Himmel,
von Wassern und von Erz durchzogen,
mild und wild, jung und alt,

erhoben wie ein Opfer
zur Hand, die es empfängt:
Land, schön und vollendet,
warm, wie das Brot!

Rose des Lichts, bröckelnde Mauer -,
doch, im Abhang des Hügels,
dieser Spalt, der, droben, zaudert
in seiner Proserpinageste.

Viel Schatten tritt gewiss
in dieses Weinbergs Saft;
und das Zuviel an Licht, das lastet
über ihm, täuscht auf dem Weg.

Das Jahr läuft um den Angelpunkt
ländlicher Beständigkeit;
die Jungfrau und Sankt Anna
tragen dazu bei.

Weiteres fügt sich an,
Älteres zudem, -
das Alles segnet,
und der Erd’ entsprießt

dies demutsvolle Grün,
das, durch lange Müh’,
der Traube Halt schenkt
zwischen uns und den Verstorbenen.

Pfade, die nirgendwo hin führen
zwischen Wiesen,
dass man kunstvoll sagen würde,
sie seien abgelenkt von ihrem Ziel,

Pfade, die oftmals
vor sich kein anderes Gegenüber haben
als den bloßen Raum
und die Jahreszeit.

Schöner Falter, nah der Erde,
(der achtsamen Natur)
zeigt er die Miniaturen
aus seinem Buch des Fliegens.

Ein anderer schließt die Flügel am Rand
der Blüte, durchzuatmen - :
Dies ist nicht der Augenblick, zu lesen.
Und viele weit’re noch,

von zarter Bläue, verstreuen
segelnd, flatternd sich
wie blaue Zweiglein
eines Liebesbriefs im Wind,

eines Briefs, den man
dabei war, zu zerreißen,
indessen die Empfängerin
am Eingang zauderte.
