Was beginnen? werd' ich etwa, Meinen Lebenstag verwünschend, Rasch nach Gift und Messer greifen? Das sei ferne! Vielmehr muß man Stille sich im Herzen fassen. Und ich sprach zu meinem Herzen: Laß uns fest zusammenhalten! Denn wir kennen uns einander, Wie ihr Nest die Schwalbe kennet, Wie die Zither kennt den Sänger, Wie sich Schwert und Schild erkennen, Schild und Schwert einander lieben.
