La bella molinara
Song Cycle by Franz Peter Schubert (1797 - 1828)

O Wandern, mia passione, andare in giro! Signor padrone e signora padrona, lasciatemi andare sereno in giro. Wandern!

Wo steckst du gleich das Köpfchen hin, Als wär' dir was geschehen? Verdrießt dich denn mein Gruß so schwer? Verstört dich denn mein Blick so sehr?

Buon giorno, bella molinara! Allora me ne vado.

Was sucht denn der Jäger am Mühlbach hier? Bleib', trotziger Jäger, in deinem Revier! Was will denn das Eichhorn im bläulichen Teich?

Wohin so schnell, so [kraus, so]1 wild, mein lieber Bach?

Dove vai così svelto, sconvolto e selvaggio, mio caro ruscello?

Ach Grün, du böse Farbe du, Was siehst mich immer an, So stolz, so keck, so schadenfroh, Mich armen weißen Mann? Ah, verde, colore maligno, perchè mi guardi sempre così superbo, arrogante, malefico, io povera bianca creatura?

Ah, ruscello, caro ruscelletto, continua a cantare!

Gute Ruh', gute Ruh'! Will betten dich kühl, Auf [weichem]1 Pfühl, In dem blauen krystallenen Kämmerlein.

Buon riposo, buon riposo! Chiudi gli occhi. Stanco viandante, eccoti a casa.
