Cançó de l’oblit
Language: Catalan (Català)
Available translation(s): ENG
Boireta del matí,
escampa’t una mica;
esborra el turó verd,
amaga la masia,
les canyes del camí
i l’ombra de l’eixida.
Boireta del matí.
melangiosa i tendra!
Atura l’oratjol,
allunya la pineda,
i mulla, mar endins,
les cofes i la vela.
Boireta del matí,
emboira’m la mirada.
Ets dolça com l’oblit.
Adéu, la vinya clara!
Que lluny, l’alè del mar
i els brucs de la muntanya!

Song of oblivion
Language: English  after the Catalan (Català)
Morning mist,
spread out a little;
efface the green hill,
hide the farmhouse,
the reeds of the road,
and the shade in the courtyard.
Morning mist,
melancholic and tender!
Halt the breeze,
send away the pine grove,
and moisten, in the open sea,
the tops and the sails.
Morning mist,
blur my vision.
You are sweet like oblivion.
Farewell, bright vineyard!
How far are, the breath of the sea,
and the heathers of the mountain!
