Es wollt' gut Jäger jagen

Language: German (Deutsch) after the German (Deutsch)

Es wollt' gut Jäger jagen,
wollt' jagen von Himmelshöhn;
was begegn't ihm auf der Heiden?
Maria, die Jungfrau schön.

Der Jäger, den ich meine,
der ist uns wohlbekannt,
er jagt mit einem Engel,
Gabriel ist er genannt.

Der Engel blies sein Hörnlein,
das laut' sich also wohl:
"Gegrüsst seist du, Maria,
du bist aller Gnaden voll!

Gegrüsst seist du, Maria,
du edle Jungfrau fein!
Dein Schoß soll hegen und tragen
ein Kindlein zart und klein.

Dein Schoß soll hegen und tragen
ein Kindlein zart und klein,
das Himmel und auch Erden
einmals wird nehmen ein".

Maria, die vielreine,
fiel nieder auf ihre Knie,
dann sie bat Gott von Himmel,
sein Will' geschehen soll.

Dein Will', der soll geschehen
ohn sonder Pein und Schmerz.
Da empfing sie Jesum Christum
in ihr jungfräulich Herz.

Een jager goed wou jagen

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Een jager goed wou jagen,
Gaan jagen hoog en laag;
Wie ontmoet hij op de heide?
Maria, die schone Maagd.

De jager die ik voorheb,
Die is best wel beroemd,
Hij jaagde met een engel,
Gabriël wordt die genoemd.

De engel blies zijn hoorntje,
Dat klonk van do si la sol:
“Gegroet zijt gij, Maria,
Gij zijt genadevol!

Gegroet zijt gij, Maria,
Gij, eed’le maged fijn!
Uw schoot zal koest’ren en dragen
Een kindje zacht en klein.

Uw schoot zal koest’ren en dragen
Een kindje zacht en klein,
Dat hemel en ook aarde
Zal eens tot heerser zijn.”

Maria, maged reine,
Viel op haar knieën neer.
Toen bad zij God in de hemel:
“Uw wil geschiede, Heer.

Uw wil, die moet geschieden,
Wel zonder pijn en smart.”
Toen ontving zij Jezus Christus
In haar jong meisjeshart.
