Wie die Wolke nach der Sonne

Language: German (Deutsch)

Wie die Wolke nach der Sonne
Voll Verlangen irrt und bangt,
Und durchglüht vom Himmelswonne
Sterbend ihr am Busen hangt;

Wie die Sonnenblume richtet
[Nach der]1 Sonn' ihr Angesicht
Und nicht eh'r auf sie verzichtet
Bis ihr eig'nes Auge bricht;

Wie der Aar auf Wolkenpfade
Sehnend steigt in's Himmelszelt
Und berauscht vom Sonnenbade
Blind zur Erde niederfällt:

So auch muß ich schmachten, bangen,
Späh'n und trachten, dich zu seh'n,
Will an deinen Blicken hangen
Und an ihrem Glanz vergeh'n.

Als een wolk die rustloos zwervend

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Als een wolk die rustloos zwervend
Naar de zon heel sterk verlangt,
En doorgloeid van hemelvreugde
Stervend aan haar boezem hangt;

Als de zonnebloem die steevast
Naar de zon haar aanschijn richt,
En daar eind’lijk pas mee ophoudt,
Als daarvan het schijnsel zwicht;

D’ arend stijgt op wolkenpaden
Hunk’rend naar de hemelsfeer
Maar bedwelmd door ’t zonnebaden
Valt hij blind ter aarde neer;

Zo kan ik met bang verlangen
Slechts naar jou mijn ogen slaan;
Aan jouw blikken wil ik hangen,
In hun diepe glans vergaan.
