Die Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG

Love
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
My girl has eyes as black as coal,
With them the little thief has stolen my heart.
Now she has my heart and I have her eyes,
And the heart and the eyes go well together!
The Lord God in Heaven, He gives us His blessing,
He delights in the fact that we like each other.
Love comes from Heaven, it's nobody's fault,
Where would we be if there were no love on earth.
And when death calls me hence, I shall go,
But listen, my darling, there's something I would ask:
Please go plant me a little flower upon my grave,
Then say the Lord's Prayer, but you are not allowed to weep.
