Δροσάτη η δύση, κι ο Ρήνος
Κυλά πολύ ήρεμα,
Λαμπρό του βουνού το ύψος
Στο ’λιοβασίλεμα.
 
Παρθένα κόρη νάτην
Στα ύψη θαυμαστή,
Μ’ ολόχρυσα στολίδια αστράφτει,
Χρυσό χτενίζει μαλλί.

Χρυσή κι η χτενιά που κρατάει,
