Was geht dort für ein Stelzenfuß Am Bächlein kreuz und quer, Und wackelt mit dem Schwanze doch So hurtig hin und her? Bachstelzchen ist's, -- es hüpfet froh Und leicht dort auf den Stein, Schaut mit dem hellen Augenpaar Wohl in die Welt hinein! Und hat es Durst, so trinkt es flugs Am frischen Bache dort, Das schmeckt ihm gut, wie süßer Wein,-- Dann flattert’s fröhlich fort. Es hat nicht Sorg, es hat nicht Noth, Ist immer wohlgemuth; Der liebe Gott, der sorgt für es;-- Wie ist Er doch so gut!
