Ever again, He is born as a man, speaks to pious, speaks to deaf ears, nears us and is lost to us anew. Ever again He must loom in solitude, bearing the misery and longing of all brethren, forever He is nailed to the cross anew. Ever again God wishes to proclaim Himself, what is heavenly wishes to flow into the valley of sin, the eternal Spirit wishes to flow into flesh. Ever again, in these days as well, the Saviour is underway to bless, with His gaze to meet quietly our anxieties, tears, questions, laments, the gaze that we do not dare to return, because only a child’s eyes can bear it.
