Weh ist mein Herz und im Auge die Thrän', Lang', lang' hab' ich keine Freude geseh'n; Verlassen und einsam trag' ich meinen Schmerz, Und die Stimme des Mitleids kühlt nimmer mein Herz! O, wenn ich wär', wo das Glück mir einst schien -- Drunten am Strom, an dem Schloß dort so grün, Denn dort mein gedenkend wird wandeln und geh'n, Der gar bald mir im Auge wird trocknen die Thrän'. Lieb', du hast Freud'; und tief hab' ich geliebt,-- Lieb', du hast Leid; und tief ward ich betrübt. Doch dies wunde Herz, das so blutet mir nun, O es sagt mir sein Pochen, bald, bald wird es ruh'n!
