Die Mitternacht, ihr Christen, ist die feierliche Stunde zu der Gott zu uns Menschen herabstieg, die Erbsünde zu tllgen und seines Vaters Zorn zu zügeln: Die ganze Welt erschauert hoffnungsfroh in dieser Nacht, die ihr den Erlöser schenkt. Kniet nieder, Christen! Harrt eurer Erlösung! Weihnacht ist! Der Erlöser ist da! Weihnacht ist! Der Erlöser ist da! Unser leuchtender Glaube möge uns alle zur Wiege des Kindes leiten, wie einst ein leuchtend heller Stern die Weisen aus dem Morgenland geleitet. Der König der Könige ward in einer einfachen Krippe geboren, Ihr, die ihr derzeit mächtig seid und stolz auf eure Größe - gegen euren Hochmut richtet sich Gottes Wort; beugt euch vor dem Erlöser, beugt euch vor dem Erlöser. Der Erlöser hat alle Fesseln gesprengt: die Welt befreit, der Himmel offen. Er sieht einen Bruder, wo nur ein Sklave war - die Liebe eint jene, die in Eisenketten lagen. Wer wird ihm sagen, wie dankbar wir sind? Für uns alle ist er geboren, leidet und stirbt er. Steht auf, ihr Menschen, besingt eure Erlösung! Weihnacht ist! Singt dem Erlöser! Weihnacht ist!
