Les roses pleurent

Les roses ont ce soir pleuré dans le jardin ;
Leur parfum était triste et tristes leurs corolles,
Peut-être qu’un passant aura dit ces paroles :
“Toutes se faneront demain !”

Aussi comme ce soir leur veille est douloureuses !
Elles tremblent de s’endormir,
Craignent, toutes peureuses,
Que ce dernier sommeil les vienne en sevelir !

Leur tige s’alourdit de tristesse pesante,
Des larmes de la nuit leur pauvre cœur est plein,
Chaque fleur prend des airs d’agonisante.
Les roses ont ce soir pleuré dans le jardin !
