Przyszły dni placzu po dniach wesela, Nieczszęście zwiało snów mych ostatek, Najprzód pożółknął kwiat przyjaciela, Po tem uwiędnął kochanki kwiatek . . . Tylko kwiat matki miał listki świeże, O tylko matka kocha mnie szczerze.

Ich nahm aus junger froher Traumeszeit Drei Blumen mit ins sturmbewegte Leben, Die mir der Freund, die vielgeliebte Maid Und meine Mutter auf den Weg gegeben. Ich sprach: So lange diese Blumen blühen, Wird auch das Herz der Geber für mich glühen! Und Thränen trübten meinen frohen Sinn, Bald ging mein letzter Hoffnungstraum zu Ende: Da schwand zuerst des Freundes Blümlein hin, Dann welkte der Geliebten Blütenspende -- Der Mutter Blume nur ist frisch geblieben, Die Mutter nur hört nimmer auf zu lieben!
