Durch den Wald, den dunkeln, geht

Language: German (Deutsch)

Durch den Wald, den dunkeln, geht
Holde Frühlingsmorgenstunde,
Durch den Wald vom Himmel weht
Eine leise Liebeskunde.

Selig lauscht der grüne Baum,
Und er taucht mit allen Zweigen
In den schönen Frühlingstraum,
In den vollen Lebensreigen.

Blüht ein [Blümlein]1 irgendwo,
Wird's vom hellen Tau getränket,
Das [einsame]2 zittert froh,
Daß der Himmel sein gedenket.

In geheimer Laubesnacht
Wird des Vogels Herz getroffen
Von der [großen Liebesmacht]3,
Und er singt ein süßes Hoffen.

All' das frohe Lenzgeschick
Nicht ein Wort des Himmels kündet,
Nur sein stummer, warmer Blick
Hat die Seligkeit entzündet;

Also in den Winterharm,
Der die Seele hielt bezwungen,
Ist dein Blick mir, still und warm,
Frühlingsmächtig eingedrungen.

Door het woud, het donk’re, gaat

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Door het woud, het donk’re, gaat
Lieve lentemorgenwijding,
Door het woud de hemel praat
Zacht en zoel een liefdestijding.

Luist’rend lacht de groene boom,
En hij duikt met alle takken
In de mooie lentedroom,
Wil het volle leven pakken.

Bloeit een bloempje hier of daar,
Gaat de lichte dauw het drenken;
’t Siddert blij van dit gebaar,
Dat de hemel ‘t wil gedenken!

In het lover, in de nacht
Gaat het vogelhart ook open
Door [de grote liefdesmacht]1
En het zingt van heerlijk hopen.

Van de blije lentekick
Heeft de hemel niet gesproken
Slechts zijn stille, warme blik
Heeft de zaligheid ontstoken;

Zo zijn in het wintertij
Dat mijn ziel steeds hield bedwongen,
Mij jouw blikken, warm en blij,
Jong en machtig [ingedrongen]2.
