Ich hör' ein Vöglein locken

Language: German (Deutsch)

Ich hör' ein Vöglein locken,
Das wirbt so süß, das wirbt so laut,
Beim [Duft]1 der Blumenglocken
Um die geliebte Braut.

Und aus dem blauen Flieder
Singt, ohne Rast und Ruh'
Millionen Liebeslieder
Die holde Braut ihm zu. --

Ich hör' ein leises Klagen,
So liebesbang, so [seelenvoll]2 --
Was mag die Stimme fragen,
Die in dem Wind verscholl?

Ik hoor een vogeltje lokken

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Ik hoor een vogeltje lokken;
Het fluit zo lief, het fleemt zo luid,
Bij geur van bloemenklokken,
Om de beminde bruid.

En vanuit blauwe seringen
Zingt -- nimmer lui of moe --
Miljoenen liefdesdingen
De lieve bruid hem toe.

Ik hoor een heel zacht klagen,
Zo 'n liefdesbange monoloog;
Wat mag die stem toch vragen,
Die in de wind vervloog?
