Te rozkwitłe ciche drzewa upajają słodką wonią, wody szepcą, słowik śpiewa i koniki cicho dzwonią. Czemuż zadumany stoję i wiosną się nie weselę? bo sieroce serce moje, z kimże wiosnę tę podzielę? Tylem uczuł, cierpiał tyle, lecz nie powrócę do domu: opowiadać nie mam komu, zamknę powieść mą w mogile. Mija wiosna, mija zima, mija pogoda i słota, nie przeminie żal pielgrzyma, bo on wdowiec i sierota.
