Je commence à chanter doucement, Je chante la lune et le vent, Le cerf et le cygne, Marie et son fils, Je suis envahi par tous les chants Que l'on peut chanter, L'étoile et la lune entrent chez moi La forêt et le chevreuil sont ici, près de moi. Toute les douleurs, toutes les joies s'enfuient Derrière mes yeux clos, Elles sont indiscernables les unes des autres, Toutes sont douces, toutes brûlent, Je ne sais pas où je suis, Des femmes aux lèvres blêmes et rouges viennent, Vacillant d'amour comme de tremblantes bougies, L'une d'entre elles s'appelle Mort, Oh, comme son regard de braise s'abreuve à mon cœur !
