Lady of the amber wheat
Language: English
Lady of the amber wheat, Come in blue and scarlet drest, There are poppies at her feet, And a child upon her breast. Lady of the amber wheat, Scarlet cloak and blue gown, Lambs come crowding round her feet And the child looks down. Dark the wood: but green the slopes and white the little town. Madonna of the amber wheat, Lady in the blue gown, Jesus Christ is at your breast, Jesus all in white is drest. Blue hills drift into the west, And a star-thorned crown.
