Simeon's Lofzang
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Available translation(s): ENG

Simeon's ode
Language: English  after the Dutch (Nederlands)
Grant, o God, at his prayer,
after thy promise, thy servant leave,
that he may journey from here in peace
upwards to the heavenly sanctuary.
After I saw with mine own eyes
that Saviour of us one and all,
who shines like a sun from on high,
that all may rejoice!
A brilliant sun, that with her rays
illuminates blind heathendom,
and glorifies and more firmly founds
Jacob's house and Israel's pillars.
