que captiven màscares i bergamasques
tocant el llaüt i dansant, i gairebé
tristes sota les seves disfresses capritxoses.

Mentre canten en mode menor
sobre l'amor vencedor i la vida oportuna.
Sembla ser que no creuen en la seva sort,
i la seva cançó es barreja amb la llum de la lluna.

Amb la calma claror de la lluna, trista i bella,
que fa somiar els ocells sobre els arbres,
i sanglotar d'èxtasi els dolls d'aigua,
