Sὰ bgeῖs stὸn pēgaimὸ giὰ tὴn Ἰthάkē, nὰ eὒchesai nἆnai makrὺs ὁ drόmos, gemάtos peripέteies, gemάtos gnώseis. Toὺs Laistrygόnas kaì toùs Kύklōpas, tòn thymōmέno Poseidῶna mὴ phobᾶsai, tέtoia stòn drόmo su potέ su dὲn thὰ breῖs, ἄn mέn' ἡ skέpsis su ὑpsēlή, ἄn ἐklektὴ synkίnēsis tò pneῦma kaì tò sῶma su ἀngίzei. Toùs Laistrygόnas kaì toùs Kύklōpas, tòn ἄgrio Poseidῶna dὲn thὰ synantήseis, ἄn dὲn toùs kubaneῖs mes stὴn psychή su, ἄn ἡ psychή su dὲn toùs stήnei ἐmprόs su. Nὰ eὒchesai nἆnai makrùs ὁ drόmos. Pollὰ tὰ kalokairinὰ prōiὰ nὰ eἶnai poù mὲ tί eὐcharίstēsi, mὲ tί charὰ thὰ mpaίneis sὲ limέnas prōtoeidōmέnus ; nὰ stamatήseis s' ἐmporeῖa Phoinikikά, kaì tὲs kalὲs pragmάteies n' ἀpoktήseis, sentέphia kaì korάllia, kechrimpάria k' ἔbenus, kaì ἡdonikὰ myrōdikὰ kάthe logῆs, ὅso mporeῖs piò ἄphthona ἡdonikὰ myrōdikά; sὲ pόleis Aigyptiakὲs pollὲs nὰ pᾶs, nὰ mάtheis kaì nὰ mάtheis ἀp' toùs spudasmέnus. Pάnta stò noῦ su nἄcheis tὴn Ἰthάkē. Tò phthάsimon ἐkeῖ eἶn' ὁ proorismόs su. Ἀllὰ mὴ biάzeis tò taxeῖdi diόlu. Kallίtera chrόnia pollὰ nὰ diarkέsei; kaì gέros piὰ n' ἀrάxeis stò nēsί, ploύsios me ὅsa kέrdises stòn drόmo, mὴ prosdokῶntas ploύtē nὰ sὲ dώsei ἡ Ἰthάkē. Ἡ Ἰthάkē s' ἔdōse t' ὡraῖo taxeῖdi. Chōrìs aὐtὴn dὲn thἄbgaines stòn drόmo. Ἄlla dὲn ἔchei nὰ sὲ dώsei piά. Ki ἄn ptōchikὴ tὴn breῖs, ἡ Ἰthάkē dὲn sὲ gέlase. Ἔtsi sophòs poὺ ἔgines, mὲ tόsē peῖra, ἤdē thὰ tò katάlabes ἡ Ἰthάkes tί sēmaίnun.
