Die Wollust in den Maien

Language: German (Deutsch)

Die Wollust in den Maien,
die Zeit hat Freuden bracht,
Die Blümlein mancherleien,
Ein jeglichs nach sein'r G'stalt,
Das sind die roten Röselein,
Der Feyl, der grüne Klee;
Von herzer Liebe scheiden
Das tut weh.

Der Vögelein Gesange,
Die Zeit hat Freuden bracht,
Ihr Lieb tät mich bezwingen,
Freundlich sie zu mir sprach:
Sollt, schönes Lieb, ich fragen dich,
Wollst fein berichten mich.
Genad mir, schöne Frauen,
So sprach ich.

Nach manchem Seufzer schwere,
Komm ich wohl wieder dar,
Nach Jammer und nach Leide
Seh ich dein Äuglein klar.
Ich bitt dich, Auserwählte mein,
Laß dir befohlen sein
Das treue, junge Herze,
Das Herze mein.

Hoe vrolijk is toch Mei

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Hoe vrolijk is toch Mei
de tijd brengt vreugde voort,
en bloempjes velerlei,
eenieder naar zijn soort,
dat zijn de fijne rode roos,
het veil en klaver groen,
van ware liefde scheiden
is geen doen.

Een vogeltje ging zingen
de tijd bracht vreugde voort
haar liefde deed me smelten
haar stem had me bekoord:
Mag ik, mijn lief, je vragen vrij
geef toch gehoor aan mij.
Ach toe nou, liefste meisje
kom bij mij.

Na vele diepe zuchten
kom ik toch zeker weer,
na kommer en na lijden
zie ik je blik zo teer.
Ik bied je, die ik kiezen wou,
wat ik je geven zou,
mijn trouwe, jonge hart
dat is voor jou.
