What gat my young Highland thief.

Leeze me on thy bonnie craigie!
And thou live, thou'll steal a naigie,
Travel the country thro' and thro' ,
and bring hame a Carlisle cow!

Thro' the Lawlands, o'er the Border,
Weel, my babie, may thou furder!
Herry the louns o' the laigh Countrie,
Syne to the Highlands hame to me!

Ukolébavka
Language: Czech (Čeština)  after the Scottish (Scots)
Hajej, malý Donaldečku,
Clanronaldův obrážečku;
že's ty jeho, on to ví,
malý, horský zloději!

Statně, kloučku, křičíš stále,
ukradneš si koně v mále,
zajedeš si dolů v kraj,
přiženeš nám kravku v stáj.

Do nížin až za hranice
zajedeš jak blýskavice:
zlato mají tam a brav;
pak se do hor vrátíš zdráv!
