Gebet

Language: German (Deutsch)

Gott, deine Kinder treten
mit Freuden zu dir hin,
sie stammeln und sie beten;
du kennst der Worte Sinn.

Was aus dem Borne quillet,
der nimmermehr versiegt,
was ihnen selbst verhüllet
im tiefsten Herzen liegt.

Das lockst du hoch nach oben
in seliger Begier,
die Milde dein zu loben
und Güte für und für.

O du der in den Höhen
und in den Tiefen wohnt,
laß kindlich uns verstehen,
was überschwänglich lohnt.

Gieb fromme Kinderworte,
und Kinderglauben du,
so bringt des Himmels Pforte
uns einst zur süßen Ruh.
