Das Mädchen

Language: German (Deutsch)

Wie so innig, möcht' ich sagen,
Sich der meine mir ergiebt,
Um zu lindern meine Klagen,
Daß er nicht so innig liebt.

Will ich's sagen, so entschwebt es;
Wären Töne mir verliehen,
Flöss' es hin in Harmonieen,
Denn in jenen Tönen lebt es.
Nur die Nachtigall kann sagen,
Wie er innig sich mir giebt,
Um zu lindern meine Klagen,
Daß er nicht so innig liebt.

Het meisje

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

O, hoe graag zou ik gewagen
Van de passie die hij heeft,
Om te temperen mijn klagen,
Dat hij niet veel om mij geeft.

Wil ik 't zeggen, dan ontglipt het;
Waren tonen mij gegeven,
Harmonieën zou ik weven,
Want juist in die tonen zit het.
Slechts de nachtegaal kan 'k vragen,
Hoeveel moeite hij zich geeft,
Om te temperen mijn klagen,
Dat hij mij zo lief niet heeft.
