Windes Rauschen, Gottes Flügel

Language: German (Deutsch)

Windes Rauschen, Gottes Flügel,
Tief in kühler Waldesnacht;
Wie der Held in Rosses Bügel,
Schwingt sich des Gedankens Macht.
Wie die alten Tannen sausen,
Hört man Geistes Wogen brausen.

Herrlich ist der Flamme Leuchten
In des Morgenglanzes [Roth]1,
Oder die das Feld [befeuchten]2,
Blitze, schwanger oft von Tod.
Rasch die Flamme zuckt und lodert,
Wie zu Gott hinaufgefodert.

Ewig's Rauschen sanfter Quellen
Zaubert Blumen aus dem Schmerz,
Trauer doch in linden [Wellen]3
Schlägt uns lockend an das Herz;
Fernab hin der Geist gezogen,
Die uns locken, durch die Wogen.

Drang des Lebens aus der Hülle,
Kampf der starken Triebe wild,
Wird zur schönsten Liebesfülle,
Durch des Geistes Hauch gestillt.
Schöpferischer Lüfte Wehen
Fühlt man durch die Seele gehen.

Windes Rauschen, Gottes Flügel,
Tief in [dunkler]4 Waldesnacht,
Frei gegeben alle Zügel
Schwingt sich des Gedankens Macht,
Hört in Lüften ohne Grausen
Den Gesang der Geister brausen.

Nacht in het woud (In het woud)

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Windenruisen, godenvleugels,
Diep in koele nacht van 't woud,
Als een ruiter in de beugels
Vliegt het denken, sterk en stout.
Waar de oude dennen ruisen,
Hoort men geestesgolven suizen.

Heerlijk is het vlammend wenken
Van het glanzend morgenrood,
Of van - die het veld doordrenken -
Bliksems, zwanger vaak van dood.
Plots een vlam die flitst en flikkert,
Als tot God omhoog getriggerd.

't Eeuwig ruisen van de bronnen
Tovert bloemen op uit smart;
Droefheid toch, met zachte golven,
Slaat ons lokkend tegen 't hart.
Ver weg wordt de geest getrokken
Door de golven die ons lokken.

Drang tot leven breekt de boeien,
Sterke driften strijden wild,
Zo gaat liefde prachtig bloeien,
Door het geestgedruis gestild.
Luchten die gedachten baren
Voelt men door de ziel heen waren.

Windenruisen, godenvleugels,
Diep in donk're nacht van 't woud,
Vrijgemaakt van alle teugels,
Vliegt het denken, sterk en stout,
Luistert zonder huiveringen
Hoe hier ruisend geesten zingen.
