You can help us modernize! The present website has been online for a very long time and we want to bring it up to date. As of May 6, we are $2,380 away from our goal of $15,000 to fund the project. The fully redesigned site will be better for mobile, easier to read and navigate, and ready for the next decade. Please give today to join dozens of other supporters in making this important overhaul possible!

Rodica

Language: Romanian (Română)

Purtând cofiță cu apă rece
Pe ai săi umeri albi, rotunzori,
Juna Rodică voioasă trece
Pe lângă junii sămănători.

Ei cu grăbire îi sar în cale,
Zicând: „Rodică, floare de crin,
În plin să-ți meargă vrerile tale,
Precum tu, dragă, ne ieși cu plin![1]

S-ajungi mireasă, s-ajungi crăiasă!
Calea să-ți fie numai cu flori,
Și casa casă, și masa masă,
Și sânul leagăn de pruncușori!”

Cu grâu de aur ei o presoară,
Apoi cofița întreagă-o beu.
Copila râde și-n cale-i zboară,
Scuturând grâul din părul său.

Hat dort die kleine Rodica auf runde

Kinderwiege sei deine Brust.

Wie sie geschwinde den Krug ihr leeren,
Werfen mit Korn sie, die wilde Schaar,
Rodica lacht und schüttelt die Ähren,
Weiter fliegend, aus ihrem Haar.
