Sommer entschwand, Herbstluft durchwehet das Land, Nebel bedecken die Weide, ruhn auf der Heide. Leben und Tod ringen in Ängsten und Not, Gräber beim Totengeläute, nehmt eure Beute. Nimm auch o Grab, was ich noch Eiteles hab, dass ich zum kräftigen Leben mich kann erheben! So nur erwacht Lenz mir bei sinkender Pracht, der in dem Herzen erblühet und nie entfliehet.
