Sturmeswinde durch die Lüfte weh'n,
dunkle Wolken hoch am Himmen geh'n,
nicht zu seh'n ist weißes Tageslicht,
nicht zu seh'n ist rother Sonnenschein

Durch den feuchten Nebelbrodem
schaut nur die grause, schwarze Nacht hervor
Bei solch' trüber schaudervoller Zeit
ist allein sein, einem Herzen kalt;

Brust an Brust sehnt es zu legen sich,
an das Gluthherz einer schönen Maid,
dann weht Winters warme Sommerluft,
und im Unheil ist auch Leid kein Leid!
