Come to my heart!
Language: English
Brightly sparkled the hall! Sweet flow'rs were odours distilling; While in the whirling dance We two circled, with pulses thrilling. Flying onward like turtle doves, Love's am'rous zephyrs greeting, While my heart, with each fibre stirr'd, Close unto thine was beating! I now may seek thee in vain, When dies out the dim day declining; Call for thee, when on high In yon heaven the sun is shining! Thee I recall, dear love, When young May with fresh perfumes is teeming; See thee in ev'ry star In Night's bright coronet beaming! Thou alone are my soul's pure sun, Whose rays, enchantingly tender, Fill with rapture my waking hours And gild my dreams with splendor. Brightly sparkled the hall! Sweet flow'rs were odours distilling; Come to my heart once more, Ev'ry puls with emotion thrilling! Thou art my soul's pure sun, Beaming with glances tender! Filling with bliss each waking hour, Gilding my dreams with splendor!
