Ни единой мысли О насущном хлебе! О, в ответ природе Улыбнись, от века Обреченный скорби Гений человека! Улыбнись природе! Верь знаменованью! Нет конца стремленью - Есть конец страданью!

Seht, ob steilen Bergen, die zum Himmel streben, dort aus Blüthenthalen Nebel sich erheben! Seht, wie er gleich Rauch sich zu den Wolken windet, die mit Gold sich säumen, bis er unter ihnen, den verwandten, schwindet! Und jetzt zittert unten Frühroth auf den Wellen. Schon beginnt der Osten flammend sich zu hellen. Ha, schon strahlt des Morgens, jungen Morgens Sonne! Nacht entweicht und alles grüßt den Tag mit Wonne, grüßt die Sonne! Am Azur, den blauen, ist nur Licht zu schauen. Genius der Menschheit, freue dich! zur Trauer seit jeher verurtheilt, fühle Wonneschauer! Freue dich und glaube, enden muß das Leiden, wenn auch währt das Ringen, enden muß das Leiden!
