Als ich noch ein Knabe war

Language: German (Deutsch)

Als ich noch ein Knabe war,
Sperrte man mich ein;
Und so saß ich manches Jahr
Über mir allein,
Wie im Mutterleib.

Doch du warst mein Zeitvertreib,
Goldne Phantasie,
Und ich [ward]1 ein warmer Held,
Wie der Prinz Pipi,
Und durchzog die Welt.

Baute manch kristallen Schloß
Und zerstört es auch,
Warf mein blinkendes Geschoß
Drachen durch den Bauch,
Ja, ich war ein Mann!

Ritterlich befreit ich dann
Die Prinzessin Fisch;
Sie war gar zu obligeant,
Führte mich zu Tisch,
Und ich war galant.

Und ihr Kuß war [Himmelsbrod]2,
Glühend wie der Wein.
Ach! Ich liebte fast mich todt!
Rings mit Sonnenschein
War sie emailliert.

Ach wer hat sie mir entführt?
Hielt kein Zauberband
[Ihr verräthrisch]3 Fliehn?
Sagt, wo ist ihr Land?
Wo der Weg dahin?

Cuant ch’i eri ’ncjamò frutùt

Language: Friulian after the German (Deutsch)

Cuant ch’i eri ’ncjamò frutùt,
i eri stàt tegnùt dut sieràt,
e cussì par tancju àis
i eri besolùt restàt,
coma’n tal grin di me mari.

Ma tu fantašìa ’ndorada
il me pasatìmp ti èris,
e jò un eròu ruvìnt i eri,
coma’l Principe Pipìt,
ch’i zevi atòr pal mont.

Tancju cjascjej di cristàl mi vevi fàt sù,
e tàncjus in d’avevi butàs jù.
La me stangja lušìnt ghi tiravi
’n ta la pansa daj òrcos e dragòns:
Oh sì, i eri un omp!

Da cavalièr galànt liberàt i vevi dopo
la Principesa Pesuta;
plena di riconosimìnt
a mi veva ’nvidat al so banchèt,
e jò i luševi di galanteria.

E’l so busòn pan divìn al era,
luminòus coma’l pì bon vin.
Oh, i ghi volevi un ben da murì!
Cu la lus dal soreli
a era duta smaltada.
Ah! cuj mi l’àja partada via?

A no eše nisùn anelùt màgic
che tègnila ’ndavòu al posi?
Dišèimi, su, indulà cal è chel post?
‘Ndà ca è la strada par zì ulà?
