Het zingt zijn schepper dank.
O Heer en Vader der natuur,
Voor U klink' ook mijn klank!
 
Aan levensvreugden schenkt Gij veel
Hem die zich wijs verblijdt  .
Dit zij steeds, Vader, wat ik wil
Bij al mijn vrolijkheid.
 
Ik kan nog blij om 't leven zijn
Op deze mooie aard';
Mijn hart moet hem geheiligd zijn
Die wijs haar steeds bewaart.
 
Als mij dan, moe, straks wenkt de dood,
Naar 'n beter land te gaan,
Dan breekt een mooier morgenrood
Aan als ik op mag staan.
