Laat sidd'ren door jouw kruinen, o lommerdreef,
Waar bang en wild de eerste liefde
Zalig bedwelmend mijn hart verrukte.
 
Het avondzonlicht beefde als helder goud
Door purp'ren bloesems, beefde als helder goud
Rondom haar zilv'ren boezemsluier;
En ik smolt weg, in vervoering huiv'rend.
 
Na lange scheiding kusse met eng'lenkus
Een trouwe minnaar hier zijn geliefde vrouw,
En zwere in de bloesemschemer
Trouw voor eeuwig zijn uitverkoor'ne.
 
Een bloempje spruite, als wij gestorven zijn,
Uit ieder grasperk ooit door haar voet beroerd,
En drag' op ieder van zijn blaadjes
Heerlijk de naam van mijn hemelse meisje.
