Santa Claus
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The Christmas Bells are ringing clear, The merry chime proclaims "Good cheer!" They blend with children's sweet voices, And every heart rejoices: "Now tell me, who had ever thought What nice things Santa Claus has brought, And present in such number, We cannot all remember! Accept our thanks, from all us girls and boys, For sweets and tarts are pretty toys! Your love beyond all measure Our grateful hearts shall treasure. Out parents' wishes we'll obey, We'll do our lessons day by day, But, Santa Claus, remember: To come again next December!"
From the Humperdinck score "Ausgewählte Lieder (Seven Songs)". In this compilation, the German title is "An das Christkind" yet is translated "Santa Claus".
