Heimgang in der Frühe

Language: German (Deutsch)

In der Dämmerung,
Um Glock' zwei, Glock' dreie,
Trat ich aus der Tür
In die Morgenweihe.

Klanglos liegt der Weg,
Und die Bäume schweigen,
Und das Vogellied
Schläft noch in den Zweigen.

Hör ich hinter mir
Sacht ein Fenster schließen?
Will mein strömend Herz
Übers Ufer fließen?

Sieht mein Sehnen nur
Blond und blaue Farben?
Himmelsrot und Grün
Samt den andern starben.

Ihrer Augen Blau
Küßt die Wölkchenherde,
Und ihr blondes Haar
Deckt die ganze Erde.

Was die Nacht mir gab,
Wird mich lang durchbeben;
Meine Arme weit
Fangen Lust und Leben.

Eine Drossel weckt
Plötzlich aus den Bäumen,
Und der Tag erwacht
Still aus Liebesträumen.

Rentrant tôt le matin

Language: French (Français) after the German (Deutsch)

Dans l'aube,
À deux ou trois heures,
Je suis sorti à la porte,
Dans la bénédiction du matin.

Le chemin s'allonge sans bruit,
Et les arbres sont silencieux,
Et le chant des oiseux
Dort encore dans les branches.

Est-ce que j'entends derrière moi
Une fenêtre qui se ferme doucement ?
Est-ce que mon cœur qui s'enfle
Débordera au-dessus de sa rive ?

Est-ce que mon désir voit seulement
Des couleurs blondes et bleues ?
Le rouge du ciel et le vert
Et toutes les autres sont mortes.

Ses yeux bleus
Embrassent le troupeau des petits nuages,
Et ses cheveux blonds
Couvrent toute la terre.

Ce que la nuit m'a donné
Me fera longtemps vibrer,
Mes bras s'ouvrent grand
Pour attraper la joie et la vie.

Une grive se réveille
Soudain dans l'arbre,
Et le jour s'éveille
Tranquillement des rêves d'amour.
