Goldne Sonne webt um die Gestalten, Spiegelt sie im blanken Wasser wider. Sonne spiegelt ihre schlanken Glieder, Ihre süßen Augen wider, Und der Zephyr hebt mit Schmeichelkosen das Gewebe Ihrer Ärmel auf, führt den Zauber Ihrer Wohlgerüche durch die Luft. O sieh, was tummeln sich für schöne Knaben Dort an dem Uferrand auf mut'gen Rossen, Weithin glänzend wie die Sonnenstrahlen; Schon zwischen dem Geäst der grünen Weiden Trabt das jungfrische Volk einher! Das Roß des einen wiehert fröhlich auf Und scheut und saust dahin; Über Blumen, Gräser, wanken hin die Hufe, Sie zerstampfen jäh im Sturm die hingesunknen Blüten. Hei! Wie flattern im Taumel seine Mähnen, Dampfen heiß die Nüstern! Goldne Sonne webt um die Gestalten, Spiegelt sie im blanken Wasser wider. Joves donzelles cullen flors, cullen flors de lotus al marge del ribatge. Seuen enmig de matolls i fulles, apleguen flors en llurs faldes tot fent-se burletes entre elles. Un sol daurat fa un teixit al voltant de les figures, i les emmiralla en l'aigua resplendent. El sol reflecteix els seus membres esvelts, els seus dolços ulls. I el zèfir aixeca delicadament la tela de les seves mànigues, tot escampant en l'aire, l'encant de la seva agradable olor. Oh, mira, com gallards noiets salten i corren allà, a la riba, damunt valerosos cavalls. Brillen en la llunyania com els raigs del sol; entre el brancam dels verds salzes ja s'acosta, trotant, la fresca i jovenívola gernació! El cavall d'un d'ells renilla joiós es desboca i fuig galopant, per damunt de flors i herba, les peülles vacil·lant i provocant una allau de flors trepitjades. Ai! Com ondegen amb fúria les seves crins, i els narius exhalen fogoses bafarades! Un sol daurat fa un teixit al voltant de les figures, i les emmiralla en l'aigua resplendent. I la més bella de les joves donzelles li adreça llargs, delerosos esguards. El seu posat altiu és només fingiment, en l'espurneig dels seus grans ulls, en la foscor del seu ardent esguard es remou encara el neguit planyívol del seu cor.
