Der Schatzgräber

Language: German (Deutsch)

Wenn alle Wälder schliefen,
Er an zu graben hub,
Rastlos in Berges Tiefen
Nach einem Schatz er grub.

Die Engel Gottes sangen
Dieweil in stiller Nacht,
Wie rote Augen drangen
Metalle aus dem Schacht.

"Und wirst doch mein", und grimmer
Wühlt er und wühlt hinab!
Da stürzen Steine und Trümmer
Über den Narren herab.

Hohnlachen wild erschallte
Aus der verfallnen [Kluft]1,
Der Engelsang verhallte
Wehmütig in der Luft.

Il cercatore di tesori

Language: Italian (Italiano) after the German (Deutsch)

Quando dormivano i boschi,
senza posa prese a scavare,
giù nel profondo dei monti,
un tesoro voleva trovare.

Gli angeli di Dio cantavano,
nella notte silenziosa,
come occhi di fuoco affioravano,
i metalli dalla fossa.

"Anche tu sarai mio" con rabbia
scavava e scavava più in fondo!
Ma ecco che di sassi una frana
travolse quel pazzo furioso.

Si udì una risata beffarda
levarsi dalle rovine,
il canto angelico nell'aria
cessò in un silenzio triste.
