Sὺ men, philē chelidon, ἐtēsiē moloῦsa therei plekeis kaliēn, cheimῶni d᾽ eἶs ἄphantos ἢ Neῖlon ἢ ᾽pὶ Memphin· Ἔrōs d᾽ ἀeὶ plekei meu ἐn kardiēi kaliēn. Pothos d᾽ ὃ mὲn pteroῦtai, ὃ d᾽ ὠion ἐstin ἀkmēn, ὃ d᾽ ἡmileptos ἤdē· boὴ dὲ ginet᾽ ἀei kechēnotōn neottῶn· Ἐrōtideῖs dὲ mikroys oἱ meizones trephusin· oἳ dὲ traphentes eὐthys palin kyusin ἄllus. ti mῆchos oὖn genētai? oὐ gὰr sthenō tosoytus Ἔrōtas ἐksobῆsai.
