Es rauschen die Winde

Language: German (Deutsch)

Es rauschen die Winde
So herbstlich und kalt;
Verödet die Fluren,
Entblättert der Wald.
Ihr blumigen Auen!
Du sonniges Grün!
So welken die Blüten
Des Lebens dahin.

Es ziehen die Wolken
So finster und grau;
Verschwunden die Sterne
Am himmlischen Blau!
Ach, wie die Gestirne
Am Himmel entflieh'n,
So sinket die Hoffnung
Des Lebens dahin!

Ihr Tage des Lenzes
Mit Rosen geschmückt,
Wo ich [den Geliebten]1
Ans Herze gedrückt!
Kalt über den Hügel
Rauscht, Winde, dahin!
So sterben die Rosen
Der Liebe dahin.

Herfst

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Wat ruisen de winden
Toch herfstig en koud;
Hoe kaal zijn de velden,
Ontbladerd het woud.
O bloemrijke weiden!
O zonnig, mooi groen!
Zo kwijnen de bloesems
Na 's levens seizoen.

Wat trekken de wolken
Nu duister en grauw;
De sterren verdwenen
Uit 't hemelse blauw!
Zoals van de sterren
Verdwijnt ieder spoor,
Zo gaat ook de hoop in
Het leven teloor!

O, dagen der lente,
Met rozen gesmukt,
Toen ik mijn beminde
Aan 't hart heb gedrukt!
Koud over de heuvel
Ruis, winden, maar weg!
Zo sterven de rozen
Der liefde ook weg!
