Geisternähe

Language: German (Deutsch)

      Der [Dämmrung]1 Schein
      [Durchblinkt]2 den Hain;
Hier, beim [Geräusch]3 des Wasserfalles,
Denk' ich nur dich, o du mein Alles!

      Dein Zauberbild
      Erscheint, so mild
Wie [Hesperus]4 im Abendgolde,
Dem fernen Freund, geliebte Holde!

      Er sehnt wie hier
      Sich stets nach dir;
Fest, wie den Stamm die [Eppichranke,]5
Umschlingt Dich liebend sein Gedanke.

      Durchbebt dich auch
      Im Abendhauch
Des Brudergeistes leises [Wehen]6
Mit Vorgefühl vom [Wiedersehen]7?

      Er ists, der lind
      Dir, süßes Kind,
Des Schleiers Silbernebel kräuselt,
Und in der Locken Fülle säuselt.

      Oft hörst du ihn,
      Wie Melodien
Der Wehmuth aus gedämpften Saiten,
In stiller Nacht vorübergleiten.

      Auch fesselfrei
      Wird er getreu,
Dir ganz und einzig hingegeben,
In allen Welten dich umschweben.

Geestesnabijheid

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Het scheem'ringsgoud
Doorlicht het woud;
Hier, bij 't geruis van vallend water,
Denk 'k slechts aan jou, mijn Vroeg, mijn Later!

Jouw toverbeeld
Verschijnt zo mild
Als Hesperus1 in 't avondbreken
Je verre vriend als liefdesteken!

Hij smacht, vol trouw,
Altijd naar jou;
Vast, als klimop de stam van bomen,
Omsluiten jou zijn liefdesdromen.

Is wat je voelt
In d' avondzoelt'
Een vleugje van zijn geest misschien
En 't voorgevoel hem weer te zien?

Hij is 't, die licht,
O liefste wicht,
Jouw zilv'ren sluier neev'lig rimpelt
En in je volle lokken wimpelt.

En vaak komt-ie
Als melodie
Van weemoed uit gedempte snaren
In stille nacht voorbij je waren.

Van kluisters vrij,
Maar trouw zal hij,
Totaal en enkel jou genegen,
In elke wereld jou omzweven.
