En moarns betiid is alles by 't âlde.
Mar dochs, hja kin mar in part ûnthâlde
en hoopje, fan wat se fergetten hiene, 
dochs ûnder har kessen wêrom te finen.

Blaf dochs jim hûnen, en hâld mij wach;
'k wol mij net deljaan, al is it no nacht!
Fan al myn dreamen ha 'k ôfskied nommen.
Sil ik fan dreamers wiisheid bekomme?
