Her gad jeg boe og bygge

Language: Danish (Dansk)

Her gad jeg boe og bygge,
Til jeg var træt og skulde døe,
Bag Lindetræets Skygge
Tæt ved den klare Sø.

Den Hytte, lav og lille,
Med kalket Væg og Tag af Straa,
Bag Høien tryg og stille,
Kan Stormen ikke naae.

Den snevre Have rummer
En Skat af Grønt og Blomsterduft;
Fra Kuben Bien summer
Ud i den varme Luft.

Tæt ved den blanke Rude
Har Svalen klinet op sin Bo;
Blødt ligger, som paa Pude,
I Eng den brune Ko.

Saa luunt i Lindens Grene
En Drossel sidder mangen Gang,
Sørgmodig og alene
Med sig og med sin Sang.

Frisk dufter Kløvermarken,
Vildanden seiler med sin Viv,
Og Fisken slaaer i Parken
Imellem Blomstersiv.

Hen over bløde Høie
Til fjerne Skov fra denne Vraa
Ustandset kan mit Øie
I Fred og Vemod gaae.

Den svale Kilde rinder
Hen mellem Steen og snakker smaat;
Den vækker gamle Minder,
Som gjør mit Hjerte godt.

Hvor eensomt og hvor stille!
Hvor fjernt fra Verdens stygge Larm!
Her kunde Sangens Trille
Let svæve fra min Barm.
