Der Nachtschelm und das Siebenschwein,
die gingen eine Ehe ein,
o wehe!
Sie hatten dreizehn Kinder, und
davon war eins der Schluchtenhund,
zwei andre waren Rehe.
Das vierte war die Rabenmaus,
das fünfte war ein Schneck samt Haus,
o Wunder!
Das sechste war ein Käuzelein,
das siebte war ein Siebenschwein
und lebte in Burgunder.
Acht war ein Gürteltier nebst Gurt,
neun starb sofort nach der Geburt,
owehe!
Von zehn bis dreizehn ist nicht klar; -
doch wie dem auch gewesen war,
es war eine glückliche Ehe!

conclurent un mariage.
Ô malheur !
Ils eurent treize enfants, et
parmi eux l'un était un chien de ravin,
deux autres étaient des chevreuils.
Le quatrième était la souris du corbeau,
Le cinquième un escargot avec sa maison,
ô miracle !
Le sixième était une petite chouette,
le septième était un heptaporc
et vivait dans le bourgogne.
Huit était un tatou avec ceinture,
neuf mourut sitôt sa naissance,
ô malheur !
De dix à treize, c'est pas clair ;
Mais au bout du compte
ce fut un ménage heureux !
