«Adsum Domine.»
«Tolle filium tuum unigenitum quem diligis Isaac 
et super unum montium quem monstravero tibi offeres eum in holocaustum.»
Igitur Abraham de nocte consurgens abiit ad locum quem praeceperat ei Deus
et imposuit super Isaac holocausti ligna ipse vero 
portabat in manibus ignem et gladium.
Cumque duo simul pergerent dixit Isaac patri suo:
«Pater mi.»
«Quid vis fili ?»
«Ecce ligna gladius et ignis ubi est victima ?»
«Fili mi.»
«Quid suspiras Pater?»
«Fili unigenite.»
«Pater dilecte ecce ligna gladius et ignis ubi est victima ?»
«Fili mi unigenite providebit sibi Deus holocausti victimam.»
Et venerunt ad locum quem ostenderat ei Deus cumque alligasset Isaac posuit eum
super altare et extendens manum arripuit gladium ut immolaret filius suum.

Dieu tenta Abraham et lui dit :"Abraham."
"Je suis là, Seigneur."
"Prends ton fils unique Isaac que tu aimes
et sur une montagne que je te montrerai offre-le en sacrifice."
Donc Abraham se levant de nuit s'éloigna vers le lieu que Dieu lui avait montré
et il posa sur Isaac le bois-même du sacrifice,
il portait dans ses mains le feu et l'épée.
Alors qu'ils avançaient ensemble, Isaac dit à son père :
"Mon père."
"Que veux-tu, mon fils ?"
"Voici du bois, une épée et du feu, où est la victime ?"
"Mon fils."
"Pourquoi soupires-tu, Père ?"
"Mon fils unique."
"Père chéri, voici le bois, l'épée, et le feu, où est la victime ?"
"Mon fils unique, Dieu fournira la victime du sacrifice."
Et ils arrivèrent au lieu que lui avait montré Dieu et alors il attacha Isaac et le posa
sur l'autel et étendant sa main il saisit l'épée pour immoler son fils.
