About the headline (FAQ)
View original text (without footnotes)Beneath the poem's title are the words "(Efter det Svenske)", "After the Swedish". According to a note in H. Schwanenflügel's Ingemanns liv og digtning ("Dette lille Digt er ikke, "efter det Svenske", hvilket var tilføiet i første Udgave, som et Slags Maske før den i Digtet udtalte subjective Stemning."), the poem is not in fact from the Swedish; the indication is meant to set the mood only.
1 The Nielsen score uses the older spelling, "Tidt"
2 Nielsen: "rødmer"
3 Nielsen: "Verden slukker ej min"
