Ölbaum, Cypresse, Blond du, du braun, Nickt ihr wie zierliche Grüßende Fraun? Was glänzt im Laube, Funkelnd wie Gold? Ha, Pomeranze, Birgst du dich hold? Apfel der Schönheit! Paris Natur Gab dich Neapolis Reizender Flur. Ehrlicher Weinstock, Nützest nicht bloß, Schlingst hier zum Kranze den Grünenden Schoß. Überall Schönheit Überall Glanz! Di più intensa bellezza s'adorna la pianura e sembra accarezzarmi il soffio della brezza ! Liberato dai pesi e le fatiche della Prosa mi avvio verso il paese della Poesia. Il sole è più dorato ed è più azzurra l'aria, più verde l'erba, più intensi i profumi! E fra i gambi del mais, rigonfi di linfa, s'erge l'aloe con forza ostinata. Olivi, cipressi, più chiari o più scuri, mi state salutando come fanciulle leggiadre? E cosa fra il fogliame sembra come oro brillare? Ah! Una bella arancia, ti nascondevi? [... ... ... ...] [... ... ... ...] [... ... ... ...] Poseidone rabbioso, sei proprio tu quello che dolcemente scherza e mormora laggiù? E questo che sembra, a guardarlo, metà prato e metà cielo, sarebbe lo spaventoso orrore del mare? Qua vorrei dimorare, o divina: e tu, Partenope, puoi placare le onde? Posso anche io provare, Eden di piacere, a placare le onde di questo mio petto!
