Dichterliebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): FRE
Wär' ich Meister Rafael,
Malt' ich dich, wie er Madonnen,
Kämest nie mir vom Gestell,
Wärest immer mein Modell,
Aller Lieb' und Schönheit Bronnen.
Wär' ich Meister Phidias,
Formt' ich deine holden Glieder.
Käm' Apoll auch vom Parnaß
Voller Neid in mein Gelaß,
Dich nur schüf' ich immer wieder.
Wär' ich Meister Zebaoth,
Macht' ich dich zum Lieblingsengel;
Morgenrot und Abendrot
Dienten dir auf mein Gebot,
Und das Milchstraßengeschlängel.
Da ich nur ein Dichter bin,
Noch dazu ein unverlegter,
Droht Verlust dir statt Gewinn,
Tritt ein Bettler vor dich hin,
Und ein Herz von dannen trägt er.

Amour de poète
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Si j'étais le maître Raphaël,
Je te peindrais, comme lui les madones,
Même si du chevalet tu ne venais jamais à moi,
Tu serais toujours mon modèle,
Fontaine de tout amour et beauté.
Si j'étais maître Phidias
Je façonnerais tes gracieux membres.
Si, descendant du Parnasse, arrivait Apollon,
Empli de jalousie dans mon atelier,
C'est toi seule que je recréerais à jamais.
Si j'étais le maître Zebaoth,
Je te ferais ange favori ;
L'aube et le soir
À mon commandement te serviraient,
Et aussi la sinueuse Voie Lactée.
Comme je ne suis qu'un poète,
Toujours pas publié,
Tu as plus à perdre qu'à gagner
Si un mendiant s'avance vers toi
Et s'éloigne avec un cœur.
